D401 is a two-piece aluminum vacuum valve with a self-positioning threaded locking pin. This allows the locking pin to be tightened in any position on the ramp of the base. Either the round or the rectangular base can be used.
This valve is inserted through the vacuum bag by cutting an "X" in the bagging film. The bottom of base plate is designed to prevent the breather from compressing under base plate and sealing off.
D401 is ideal for use up to 500°F/260°C, and with all bagging materials and resin systems.
